If you’re an iPhone user, iOS 17 is launching today (18 September) and comes with some great new features that offer more personal and intuitive ways to use your phone.
AUTOCORRECT
Autocorrect is now new and improved and will put an end to that, particularly pesky F to D autocorrection. It is all thanks to a new machine-learning language model for word prediction.
LIVE VOICEMAIL
This new iPhone feature allows you to see a real-time transcription as someone leaves a voicemail, and decide if you want to pick up while the caller is leaving their message.
FACETIME VIDEO AND AUDIO MESSAGES
When a family member or friend doesn’t pick up, you can leave a personalized message to let them know why you called.
STANDBY
Get a full-screen experience with glanceable information when your phone is set down and charging. It supports Live Activities, Siri, and incoming calls.
CHECK IN
Put your friends and families’ minds at ease by letting them know when you arrive at a destination. If you don’t respond, useful information will be temporarily shared with the selected contact.
CONTACT POSTERS
Customize your caller ID screen with a photo or a Memoji avatar. This works across phone calls, messages, and some third-party apps
